SXSW SYDNEY ADDS MUSICAL ARTISTS AND SPEAKERS + ANNOUNCES GAMING FESTIVAL

SXSW Sydney just got a whole lot bigger! The futurist conference and festivals inaugural Sydney event has revealed a bevy of talented artists and speakers set to appear, as well as its epic gaming programming.


Let's start with the music shall we! Having already announced a number of performers earlier this year, SXSW Sydney will host local artists Alex Mather, Babitha, Baby Cool, BARKAA, bella amor, BESTIES, Big Words, Caitlin Harnett & The Pony Boys, Chanel Loren, Charley, Darlinghurst, Death by Denim, Dylan Atlantis, FRIDAY*, Girl and Girl, Grievous Bodily Calm, Gut Health, IJALE, Isaac Puerile, Kobie Dee, Mia Wray, Mi-Kaisha, Mikayla Pasterfield, Miss Kaninna, Mitch Santiago, Nick Ward, POOKIE, Shady Nasty, Skeleten, STUMPS, South Summit, SUPEREGO, Trophie, Tulliah, Ūla, Velvet Trip, WILDFIRE MANWURRK. And now we've arrived at the Gaming Festival. Celebrate and support games as a major creative industry, the festval will explore future trends in game development, publishing, and hardware manufacturing with games demos, announcements, hands-on play, stage sessions, performances, screenings, networking events, investment sessions and workshops. SXSW Sydney will host the internaGonally-acclaimed Intel® Extreme Masters Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pro tournament, a curated showcase of 150 independent games in the Indie Games Showcase, panels and presentations as part of the Games Industry Conference Track, the Tabletop Festval, an XR Showcase, a main stage for performances, presentations and live gameplay for the wider games audience, matchmade meetings, stage pitch sessions, casual networking events as part of Investment Meet, a social hub, a one-night selection of horror games and stage content dubbed “Midnighters” Games Edition and a Student Showcase featuring award-winning tertiary students’ works from around Australia. Sydney will be the first city outside Austin, Texas to gather the world’s most inspired thinkers, creators and innovators in the Southern Hemisphere. From Sunday, October 15 to Sunday, October 22, 2023, SXSW Sydney will see the world’s pre-eminent creative industries come together across content pillars of Tech and Innovation, Gaming, Music, Screen and Culture within a stacked week-long program. SXSW Sydney will take over a number of venues across the city, where official showcasing artists will perform in front of industry reps, media and thousands of fans and fellow musicians from across the globe.
