Come on Barbie, let's go party! Atlantic Records have today revealed details around the official soundtrack for Greta Gerwig's hotly-anticipated film, Barbie. Starring Margot Robbie in the titular role, the films soundtrack, dubbed BARBIE: THE ALBUM, was executive produced by internationally renowned DJ and Oscar, Golden Globe and 7x GRAMMY® award winning artist and producer, Mark Ronson and Gerwig.
Set to arrive on July 21, the soundtrack is heralded by Dance The Night, brought to us by GRAMMY® Award-winning global superstar Dua Lipa. Continuing her exploration of 80's sonics, the nostalgia-fuelled track brings all the heat of summer, and the glitz and glam of the Barbie universe. Produced by Ronson, Andrew Wyatt and the Picard Brothers, Lipa's vocals simmer above engaging synth work and pumping beats. The songs visual
Serving as a partnership between Atlantic Records and Warner Bros. Pictures, BARBIE: THE ALBUM will feature original music from Charli XCX, KAROL G and Aldo Ranks, Tame Impala, Dominic Fike, HAIM, The Kid LAROI, Khalid, PinkPantheress, GAYLE, Ava Max and FIFTY FIFTY and Kali. Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice will team up with Aqua, the group behind the iconic Barbie Girl, with more songs and artists to be revealed.
Directed by Gerwig, Barbie stars Robbie, Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, and Will Ferrell. The film is written by Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, based on “Barbie” by Mattel, and produced by David Heyman, Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley and Robbie Brenner. Barbie will hit cinemas across Australia on July 10.
