Last month, Sydney-based duo Green Screen followed up their debut with Date Night. If you’re like us and hanging to see the visual, watch the songs official music video right here on MILKY before its release!

The musical project of The Buoys Zoe Catterall and Baby Beef's Hewett Cook, the self-directed visual places the duo in a deserted carpark, joined by balloon friends and a cameo from Taylor Swift herself. Conceptually, the track navigates the highs and lows of searching for love in your twenties and the stew of emotions bubbling as date night looms.

The irony of releasing a song all about going on dates whilst nationwide lockdowns are still in place, is not lost on the duo, commenting, "We had no choice but to juxtapose the very nature of ‘Date Night’ by creating a clip for it in the middle of lockdown. It was just the two of us, socially distanced in a car park singing about a past life of social stamina, of chance encounters, and of communal entertainment. Because of this, we think the final cut is hauntingly beautiful in its simplicity. It’s contradictory but it’s fitting. Life if strange, lockdown or not. Life is full of inconsistency."

Self-produced by the duo, Date Night is the first taste of Green Screen's debut EP Love Prevails, which is set to arrive this November. Catterall and Cook have dedicated the release to their late friend Rikky, with the pair noting he was "a beautiful soul and dedicated lover of the Sydney music scene. The love he gave will live forever in our music."
