Listen to the track and watch the music video now, exclusively on MILKY!
Melbourne singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Harris makes his return with his second release of the year, Post Madonna. If you’re like us and can’t wait, listen to the track and watch the music video right here on MILKY before its release!
The solo project of Noah Harris, frontman of Melbourne rock outfit Fan Girl, Harris was inspired to write the track after a friend misunderstood the term 'Prima Donna'. “That context was about a relationship where the balance of the responsibility feels uneven, and wasn’t always so” Harris said. The song produced by Sam Swain (Rat!hammock, Hannah Kate, Obscura Hail) and features musical comrades VincentMcIntyre (FanGirl) and Dom Buckham (Rat!hammock, Porpoise Spit).
The musician created an accompanying visual for the track during stage four lockdown, enlisting the help of his partner to bring the song to life. Full of symbolism and references, the DIY musician video features projections of colours and scenes overlaid atop the the musician. Speaking of the visual, Harris shares: “I picked the clips by a process of free-association, whereby I would listen to each individual lyrical line and look up the first thing I thought of” - most evident through the ‘Lone Ranger’ TV show reference.
Harris stepped out as a solo artist earlier this year, releasing his debut single, Sheena Is A Bush Doofer. The ground-breaking release secured spots on Spotify playlists including New Music Friday AU & NZ, Broad Chords and Fresh Finds: Rock and received airtime on triple j. This solo project symbolises something completely intimate and honest for Harris, also fulfilling his delicate and somewhat subdued adaptation alongside the glimmers of exuberance and force that we have come to expect from the Fan Girl frontman. Harris is set to release more music throughout 2021.
