Indonesian power-pop trio, GAC (Gamaliel Audrey Cantika) are heading down under later this month to perform at The Touchdown Under showcase at futurist conference and festival, South by Southwest (SXSW) Sydney. The Touchdown Under showcase arrives at SXSW Sydney® on October 19th and 20th 2023, handpicked and presented by China’s most loved festival - Concrete & Grass - and Asia’s biggest label group, YEG Music. This YEG initiative launches for the first time in Sydney to showcase the innovative label and collective’s newest talent. Sydney will be the first city outside Austin, Texas to gather the world’s most inspired thinkers, creators and innovators in the Southern Hemisphere. From Sunday, October 15 to Sunday, October 22, 2023, SXSW Sydney will see the world’s pre-eminent creative industries come together across content pillars of Tech and Innovation, Gaming, Music, Screen and Culture within a stacked week-long program. SXSW Sydney will take over a number of venues across the city, where official showcasing artists will perform in front of industry reps, media and thousands of fans and fellow musicians from across the globe.
N.E.R.D. - RUN TO THE SUN
A laid back old school funk groove from the most iconic groups of all time! That’s all we can say
FLO - NOT MY JOB
One of our favourite emerging R&B act. They bring back the golden era of R&B (the late 90s - 00s) and we’re loving it
BEYONCÉ - CRAZY IN LOVE
It’s that one song where you can sing each and every line. A cultural reset for sure
TORI KELLY - CUT
She brought back a nostalgic 2000s UK garage pop sound and made it her own
AURORA - A TEMPORARY HIGH
1980s; somewhere around the moon
EVA CELIA - PARASITE
One of our favourite Indonesian musicians, Eva Celia, released some of her new music, which includes ‘Parasite’, a fun blend between her style of music and the 80s
NIKI - BACKBURNER
Our very own Indonesian storyteller doing what she does best
KUNTO AJI - ASIMETRIS
His 4th album, yet never failed us one bit. He’s definitely someone to look out for or look up to (in our case)
ANDERSON .PAAK FEAT SMOKEY ROBINSON - MAKE IT BETTER
The collab we didn’t know we needed. This one is a smooth yet strong collaboration between these two soulful beings
HIATUS KAIYOTE - NAKAMARRA
It’s a lot more than just a feel good song. With a mix of various types of tunes, this Australian future soul band had us buzzing like crazy
