Australian artist, Zipporah has unveiled her debut mixtape, NAUNGU URUI, produced by Finbar Stuart (BOY SODA, Yawdoesitall). To celebrate, the singer has curated an exclusive playlist for MILKY full of songs that served as inspiration when penning the body of work.

"I named the project NAUNGU URUI, the translation of my name in my grandmother’s language, Kalaw Kawaw Ya. Zipporah means bird, or songbird, and it was also the subject of my first tattoo. In many ways, this project feels like my first real “marking” in my career, much like a tattoo, it carries intention, meaning, and purpose," Zipporah shares.

"The project blends Neo-Soul and R&B with touches of jazz and soul, and it was important to me that it also carried the beautiful, rich sounds of my Zenadh Kes (Torres Strait) culture... I think of NAUNGU URUI as a kind of grazing board, a spread of different textures and flavours that complement each other. It’s something I’ve assembled while getting to know myself in this chapter of my life and career, and now I finally get to enjoy it and share it.“
