PLAYLIST: CURATED BY TIED DOWN

Slow is out now!

Perth rockers Tied Down recently dropped their new single Slow, produced by Matt Templeman (Sly Withers, Voyager). To celebrate the release, the five-piece have curated an exclusive playlist for MILKY, full of songs that influenced them whilst writing their latest offering.

Speaking of the track, the band share: “Slow is definitely the most personal and emotionally-charged song we’ve written as a band to-date. It explores an adventure through addiction and coming out the other side of it, and the music is written in a way that reflects that, with some pretty heavy and emotional moments that really resolve in a positive, optimistic and opportunistic way. It’s a song that we feel will resonate with anyone who has experienced something similar and we hope that people can draw meaning from not only the lyrics, but the journey that the music takes them on as well.”

LOW – SLOWLY SLOWLY

This song talks about the embracing the challenges you face in life in order to overcome them which is very similar to Slow’s message.

LIQUORLIP LOADED GUN – STICKY FINGERS

A band that’s inspired our genre of music and talks heavily about addiction and it’s challenges

SLIP AWAY – BASEMENT

Their music finds a way to express similar emotions through their songs and we’ve taken a lot from the way they go about their music.

FADE AWAY – SHANGRILA

A song about reaching out for someone who is experiencing similar challenges to find comfort

CLARKSON – SLY WITHERS

Perth-based band tackling depression openly, not shying away from it and putting in a punk song, we’ve taken a lot from the way they’ve taken the Perth music scene.

CHAKA FANTHE VANNS

We love this song because of the narrative and story that it tells and we try to use that approach in our song-writing

STORMCLOUD – REINS

Reins finds beauty in darkness and we feel Slow does that too. We’ve played with him around Perth and he always blows our socks off.

SECOND TO REST – POT PLANT HOUSE PARTY

Working with Matt Templeman from Pot Plant really influenced the final product on how to slow came out and the bassline that lays the foundation for the song.

WHERE IS MY MIND – THE PIXIES

Inspired the lead line in the choruses. Also, huge jam!
