AT HOME WITH THE VANNS

Watch our full interview with The Vanns!

South Coast favourites The Vanns recently made their return with another stellar slice of alt-rock goodness, Red Light. We sat down with the four-piece to chat about the track, their massive national tour, what they have in store for the rest of 2021 and so much more.

The four-piece will be kicking off their extensive national tour on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland tonight, following on from their stellar performance at Wollongong's Yours & Owls Festival earlier this year. The tour will continue on to Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong, Hobart, Forth and Melbourne, before wrapping up in Canberra on July 24. The run of shows marks the bands first tour since the release of their debut album, Through The Walls.

Recorded in Byron Bay with Chris Collins (Gang of Youths, Tyne James Organ, Ruby Fields), the track showcases the bands growth not only as a band, but as individuals, with each member elevating their musicianship to deliver a resounding moment within their discography. Built upon melodies, vocals and rhythms, Red Lights capture the electric nature of their live performances, whilst conceptually commenting on the inner struggle of battling ones own demons.

The release is accompanied by an official music video, directed by Todd Hardingham. The cinematic visual was filmed on location in Broken Hill, with the four-piece wandering through the natural Australian terrain, before crossing paths in the vast red dessert to jam within a wondrous, natural setting.
