Perth-based artist Angie Colman has shared her new single, No Party!. To celebrate the release, the musician has curated an exclusive playlist for MILKY, full of songs to get you out of a slump.

“After the break down of a 5 year long relationship, being forced out of my home, and being jobless, I found my mental health had deteriorated. Coming up to my 24th birthday, I felt unworthy of celebration and noted the destructive behaviours that were contributing to my pessimistic outlook on life.” the singer shares.

Coleman is currently embarking on a national tour, which will continue on to Albany this Friday, The run of shows will wrap up with performances in Perth and Melbourne on April 30 and May 6 respectively. Tickets are on sale now!

I JUST WANT TO DANCE - SAULT

Dancing always makes me feel better if I’m sooky. I always wanna dance when I put this on (it is in the name, I guess). Also, the album this track is from, Untitled (Rise), is my travelling album, so I always get transported to fun places listening to this track.

LONELY BOY - THE BLACK KEYS

Honestly, this song is amazing but also whenever I hear it I just think of the guy in the Black Key’s video clip dancing and he’s just the freaking best. I legitimately can’t not smile thinking about that dude. He’s just having such a nice time!

THAT’S JUST HOW I FEEL - NOAH DILLON

I love Noah and whenever I listen to this I feel so loved up and ready to embrace any emotion that comes my way. Healthy way to get out of a slump!

PRETTY PIMPIN’ - KURT VILE

Not only is this riff absolutely fucking brilliant but makes me think "Yah I got shit going on emotionally inside, but I look hot so idc 🤷‍♀️”.

MONEY - THE DRUMS

Honestly this has been one of my fave tracks since I was 14. Adorable theme song for the chronically broke who wanna treat the people around them but don’t have enough money to. If I’m feeling down about cash monies (cozzie live are pretty rough fr), I feel better about it after listening to this.

SIMULATION SWARM - BIG THIEF

I guess this is not the usual pumped up way to get out of a slump, but just hearing the guitar riff in the intro makes me feel like a little kid. I will never not be beaming listening to Simulation Swarm.

HAMBURGER (ALL AMERICANS EAT IT) - CLEO PAGE, JASON & THE MAGICS, GOODIE TRAIN

This song is so silly. I fuckin' love burgers so much!!

GLORIA - PATTI SMITH

“Jesus died for somebody’s sins, but not mine” is one of the best opening lines of any songs. It’s just so good when you need to do some yelling about something. Let your anger out bb girl. Patti Smith is a God!

MAGIC MAN - HEART

This pumps me up every single time. Like just the best type of magic rock that includes a Minimoog synth solo that dips straight into a choir with bongoes????? Wtaf how can you not be pumped about that?!?! I love Heart <3

CARS - GARY NUMAN

This song reminds me of my dad (love you Pa) coz he loves Gazza and also it’s so fun and v relatable. I, too, feel safe in my car. Epic synths, great riff, and iconic vocals.

IS THIS HOW YOU FEEL? - THE PREATURES

I just absolutely BELT this anytime it comes on. I think it’s a type of love song, but sometimes it makes me think about how I’m feeling, as if Izzi [Isabella] Manfredi is asking me personally! Thank u for asking, Izzi, I am feeling brilliant now I've heard your beautiful voice!!

KISS - PRINCE

You physically cannot have a bad time if you put on Prince, especially Kiss (I will also accept I Wanna Be Your Lover from Prince).

FINAL FORM - SAMPA THE GREAT

I first saw Sampa at a Falls a few years ago and thought it was incredible. Not only is it an incredible ode to strength through oppression, but this song always makes me feel like I’m a bad bitch and that I’m always becoming a better person.
