Rising artist KYE has treated us with a glistening remix of her latest single, Ribena, enlisting Australian artist Ayesha Madon on the track.
Dubbed the Syrup Version, the remix strips back the original UK garage sonic notes, leaving behind a down-tempo smooth and sweet R&B-meets-pop soundscape to simmer beneath KYE and Madon's euphoric vocal performances. The dynamic release is all about those initial feelings of falling in love, and the sweetness it brings, just like everyones favourite blackcurrant-based soft drink, Ribena.
“The lyrics in ‘Ribena’ have always been a little bit sultry, so I wanted a slowed down version where you can really hear that side of it. Ayesha has one of the smoothest, sweetest vocals I’ve ever heard which is why it only felt right to have a Syrup version of ‘Ribena’ with her as a feature. Her vocal alongside Ed Quinn’s production breathes a new meaning into it and lets it shine as a love song.” KYE shares.
Last year, KYE continued her carve her own path within Australia's music scene, delivering her singles, Bossin and Clique. The singer supported Multi-ARIA award-winning Ghanaian-Australian artist, Genesis Owusu on his national tour, also serving as a backing vocalist during Owusu's set. She also supported her childhood heroes TLC, appeared in the 2022 ARIAs tribute performance for beloved, homegrown superstar, Olivia Newton-John, and has just wrapped up a run on For The Love festival
