Oklahoma dream-pop duo Sports - the long-running creative partnership between Cale Chronister and Christian Theriot - have dropped their new single, Keep Falling In Love. The lush new track finds the band at their most emotionally resonant and sonically refined. The song is the latest preview of their forthcoming self-titled album, set to arrive February 20, 2026.
There's a striking intimacy woven into the track’s hazy textures and subtle groove. Built on a hypnotic bass-line, sparkling synths, and twang-tinged guitar riffs, the song glows with an easy warmth that feels both modern and timeless. But it’s not just the sound that lands; it’s the heart behind it.
Chronister, who penned the track as a tribute to his wife, offers this reflection: "We tracked the song in a single day at Salvation Studios in Brighton, a rare moment of everything falling into place. It’s a love song for my wife, who I’ve been with since I was 16, and who was with us in the studio that day. The song is about the way we’ve grown and changed together, yet keep choosing each other - it’s about gratitude, and about love being the most important thing to sing about."
That authenticity pulses through every beat of Keep Falling In Love. It’s a rare kind of love song. Not grandiose or idealised, but lived-in, clear-eyed, and deeply human.
Sports have always occupied a singular corner of the indie-pop universe, often flying just below the mainstream radar while cultivating a devoted following. With this track (and the shift to full self-production), they sound freer than ever, unspooling their signature dreamy aesthetic with fresh clarity and purpose.
If this is a glimpse into the era ahead, Sports isn’t just continuing their story; they’re rewriting it with more vulnerability, more control, and more soul than ever before.
Sports is out February 20, 2026.
