American musician Aidan Bissett has unveiled his sun-drenched new single, Communication, marking the singers first release since signing with Capitol Records.
Recorded with Verzache, the track serves as a reminder that communication is key, and through taking to each other, we can understand each other. Communication is built upon atmospheric textures and woozy rhythms, juxtaposing sprawling guitar tones and reflective lyricism.
“It seems like everyone’s in their own heads these days, especially in the past year,” says Bissett. “Communication’s really gotten lost, in friendships and relationships and society in general. The only way we’re going to fix anything is if we actually talk to each other. I wrote this song as a way of trying to reach out to people, and I hope it inspires everyone else to do the same.”
The release arrives alongside an official visual, shot with a fisheye lens. Bissett takes us on a journey through the streets of a sunny Tampa, FL, performing the track with a scene-stealing bright pink microphone.
Growing up, Bissett fell in love with classic rock bands like Led Zeppelin and AC/DC. By the second grade he had picked up the electric guitar and spent his teen years teaching himself to produce his own music. “I’d stay up until 3 a.m., even on school nights, just trying to figure everything out through a lot of trial and error,” he recalls. In July 2020, Bissett released his debut single Different, followed by Worst Girls of All Time and More Than Friends, racking up more than five million streams since their release last summer.
