Wanna Be Like You is out now!
South Coast alt-rockers LSF have returned with their new single, Wanna Be Like You. To celebrate the release, the band taking MILKY behind the scenes in the studio whilst they recorded the track!
The five-piece are fuelling our nostalgia dreams with their latest offering, bringing a bit of Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins and Silverchair to the brimming cut. Leaning into 90's inspired sonics, the track brings the eras signature in-your-face guitar lines and punchy open-handed drumming, juxtaposing brighter and uplifting chords with a more sombre conceptual exploration. Wanna Be Like You presents itself as a conversation between friends, touching on the toils of mental health and longing to reach a happier state of mind.
“With this track we really wanted to explore writing for a post-lockdown Australia where crowd participation and energy are at the forefront of our shows.” frontman Blake Lauricella shares. “Lyrically it's actually quite a dark track hidden by the major sounding chords and riff. The way I think of the lyrics is a friend who is on the phone or talking to another friend who isn't doing so well.”
To celebrate the release, LSF will be hosting a hometown show at Wollongong's La La La's, supported by Major Arcana. Taking place this Wednesday, tickets are on sale now!
