Melbourne’s Tiny Little Houses have announced the release of their anticipated sophomore album, Misericorde, due out this November. The announcement arrives alongside a brand new track, Smartest Guy.

Produced and mixed by long-time collaborator Steven Schram, Misericorde is set to document frontman Caleb Karvountzis' observation of the world around him, dissecting his own life and offering up his findings across thirteen tracks. Recorded in three, five-day sessions at Melbourne’s Sing Sing studios, Karvountzis offers insight into the record, sharing: “The idea behind the title is the only way to save yourself is through suffering.” He continues, “The misericorde, which was a knife used to deal the death blow to wounded knights, becomes this mercy that releases you from pain and suffering. It’s this concept that the suffering is good but also the ending of that suffering is good.”

Their new single Smartest Guy arrives with a monochromatic, crooner-themed visual, with

Karvountzis offering a charming performance as we're drawn into a retro CRT. Speaking of the track, Karvountzis says the track is “an ode to foot in mouth disease”. Further sharing: “It’s constantly getting me in trouble with people, but I just always have to have my little say and it’s not always a good thing,”

Made up of Karvountzis, guitarist Sean Mullins, drummer Clancy Bond and bassist Al Yamin, the four-piece returned last year after a two-and-a-half-year hiatus. Following up their acclaimed debut album, Idiot Proverbs, fans have been treated to a string of singles, hinting at what's to come from their sophomore effort. The band have also announced new dates for their rescheduled headline shows. Check out all the details below

Misericorde is out November 19. Watch the visual for Smartest Guy below!
