Brisbane alt-rockers The Comfort have enlisted AJ Perdomo of The Dangerous Summer on their new single, Supernova. The track is set to appear on the bands sophomore album Experience Everything, set to arrive this November.
Produced, mixed and mastered by Jimmy Alexander (Awaken I Am, Slaves, alt.), the uplifting release explores forging your own path in life, one that empowers you to go on and grow from past decisions. Vocalists Liam Holmes and Dominic Harper's hopeful vocal performance soars above propulsive percussion and shimmering guitar melodies, creating a triumphant sonic realm throughout.
"Our culture constantly encourages avoidance of the negative. It teaches us to seek safety, pleasure and comfort at the expense of growth. How can you learn from your past if you try to forget it? I’ve learnt you need to sit with every experience in it’s totality, lean into the void and feel everything you can. This is the only way to grow. While the title and lyrics nod to Oasis, it’s also a metaphor for the collapse of one thing leading to something new and beautiful." vocalist and songwriter Liam Holmes shares.
Made up of Holmes, Harper, Marcus Parente and Izaac Calrow, The Comfort made their debut in 2014, before growing their fanbase with their debut EP two years later, Love. Since then, the band have released their first full-length album, 2018's What It Is To Be, and have toured with toured alongside Thrice (USA), Circa Survive (USA), The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus (USA), Don Broco (UK). Most recently, the band embarked on a national tour alongside Waxflower.
