Melbourne four-piece Teenage Dads have shared the visual for their latest single Cheerleader, alongside the announcement of their new EP, Club Echo. The eight-track release is set to navigate the changing state of life in the transitionary period of adolescence to adulthood, and will feature the singles Thank You for the Honey, Honey and Cheerleader.

“The themes in Cheerleader are about indecisiveness and regret so for this video and our Director Gabe Hanvey, based it around the idea of ‘seizing the day’. The thought of making the most of it, even if you’re stuck in your home with nowhere to go, resulted in a joyful video packed with insights into the band's bright and cheerful personalities. It’s as if you came out on the other side of these regretful times and decided to take action having learnt from them. Go ride your heelys, go jump on your bed, go eat a burger for breakfast!” drummer Vincent Kinna says of the track.

Of the EP, frontman Jordan Finlay shares: “This EP looks at our lives from the last five years but from our current perspective. It looks at the concept of change and how life continues to move in spite of everything that may be going on in your life: the friendships, the obstacles you face and next chapters. What's happened has happened, and whether it was how you intended or you're stuck living with regret is not up to you. It's bittersweet, a reminder of the good times but also a reminder that they're gone and you can't go back. It's like you're looking at these moments "through a window", like a party you weren't invited to.” says frontman Jordan of the EP.

Teenage Dads are set to hit the road this October, with a run of shows across the east coast. Kicking off in Adelaide on October 3, the tour will continue on to Melbourne, Maroochydore, the Gold Coast, Redfern, and Newcastle, before wrapping up in Adelaide on November 21. Along for the ride is Aeroplane Mode, Cheap Date and Don’t Bring Stacey.

Forming in high school, the band honed in on their craft and developed the band into a completely DIY project. Band members Finlay, Kinna, Angus Christie and Connor McLaughlin have complete control over their creative outlet. The four-piece produce, mix and record all the tracks, with all their artworks and videos being produces by the band members themselves. Teenage Dads are no strangers to putting on a show. Having toured with the likes of Lime Cordiale, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Northeast Party House and Ruby Fields, the band have become known for their energetic and immersive live performances.
