Australian singer Sheldon Riley has unveiled his bid to represent Australia in the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest in Italy with Not The Same.

Laced with moments of introspection and vulnerability, the track recalls on moments from the singers childhood, as he tried to make sense of his own place within the world. Riley's powerful and captivating vocals soar above striking piano melodies and atmospheric production.

“Not The Same is the story I never thought I’d ever feel I’d be able to tell. Written from the memories of a child who at age 6 was diagnosed with ‘asperger’ syndrome. Growing up in public housing, moving from home to home, unaware of my sexuality, among a deeply religious family. A path already laid that I would never be able to properly understand or interact with other people.” the singer shares of the track.

Riley will go head to head with Andrew Lambrou, Jaguar Jonze, G-Nat!on, PAULINI, Charley, Erica Padilla, G-Nation, Isaiah Firebrace and Evie Irie, Jude York, Seann Miley Moore and Voyager at Eurovision – Australia Decides later this month. Each artist will perform original songs for their chance to represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy. We spoke to Ireland's 2022 Eurovision contender Brooke about her song That's Rich, the impact of the song contest and more. Read the interview here!
