Emerging artist Andrew Lambrou has today unveiled his bid to represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest with his new single Electrify.

The Greek-Cypriot singer has delivered the ultimate summer banger, just aching to be played at beach-front clubs across Europe. Bringing his signature flawless vocals to the release, his powerful and mesmerising performance builds to an entrancing chorus, as the musician sings of a thrilling romance. Lambrou switches things up on Electrify, with the songs second verse written and performed in Spanish.

“Being a European Australian and growing up in an environment where music from Europe is constantly being played, I wanted to put together a song in my pop world mixed with European influences that I love. I took this idea to the Delahoyde brothers [Joseph, Nick, and Timm] and we turned on the power! Electrify almost felt like it wrote itself,” Lambrou says of working on the song.

Lambrou will go head to head with Sheldon Riley, Jaguar Jonze, G-Nat!on, PAULINI, Charley, Erica Padilla, G-Nation, Isaiah Firebrace and Evie Irie, Jude York, Seann Miley Moore and Voyager at Eurovision – Australia Decides later this month. Each artist will perform original songs for their chance to represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy. We spoke to Ireland's 2022 Eurovision contender Brooke about her song That's Rich, the impact of the song contest and more. Read the interview here!

Speaking of his appearance on the contest, the musician shares: “I’m so thrilled to be a part of Eurovision – Australia Decides 2022! I’ve grown up watching Eurovision with my family, admiring all that goes into it and seeing artists show their craft to the world, and to be a part of this show is like a dream come true. I’m so excited to show Australia my artistry, and to potentially represent my country in this amazing song contest is the most encouraging thought for me.”

After winning his first singing conception at the age of five, Lambrou launched his YouTube channel in his teens, uploading covers and original tracks whilst building up his ever-growing fan base. With 1.5 million followers across Tik Tok, Instagram and Youtube, Lambrou soon caught the attention of SONY ATV at the age of seventeen. Since then, he's been working away on crafting his own unique sound, recently signing to Michael Chugg and Andrew Stone's new label City Pop Records.
