Beloved ARIA Award-winning Australian artists, Ruel and DMA'S have treated us all with their collaborative debut, What A Life. The song serves as the first taste of a planned two-track release from the artists.

Bringing both artists musical stylings together to create new sonic terrain for both Ruel and DMA'S, the up-tempo cut is laced with nostalgia-fuelled synth-work heralded by the trios knack for rich and textural production. Ruel and DMA'S frontman Tommy O’Dell both lead the track in vocal unity, delivering emotive and raw performances whilst bringing vibrant lyricism to life.

“Ruel is a special talent and we worked really well together through the writing and recording process. Things came together very naturally.” O’Dell shares. Ruel adds, “This one is a little removed from either of our sounds, so it was really fun to collaborate in a different way and write an up-tempo feel-good song.”

Having penned tracks together for Ruel's musical output, the songs began to exist within a realm that sat outside of what the musician was curating for his debut album, 4TH WALL. They their collaborative endeavour late last year at DMA'S sold-out Sydney show, both acts returned to the studio to finish off the couplet of songs.

What A Life is out now!
