The Taka Perry (Ruel, A.GIRL) produced track is brought to life by director Sarsha Simone, capturing the intimate essence and moments of vulnerability laced throughout the track. Featuring choreography from dancer Vivian Tran, we meet Issa within multiple rooms of her home, some stripped bare, some filled filled with the comfort of music, symbolising the differing layers of her psyche in the wake of a painful past relationship.
Speaking of the release, the singer shares: “This track for me summarises the feeling of having to let someone go. It captures that moment when your brain is telling you "you need to let them go for yourself", while your heart is yearning for their acknowledgment and love. It's the battle all humans face. The battle of WANT versus NEED.”
Taking centre stage on her debut, Issa has previously cut her teeth as a session vocalist, having taken to the stage at festivals including Splendour in the Grass where she performed alongside Odette. The singer-songwriter is now focusing on her own musical path, beginning with Home.
