Australian singer-songwriter Lawson Hull recently shared his latest single, Mexico. If you're loving the track like us and hanging for the visual, you can watch the music video right here on MILKY before its release!
Filmed and directed by Sam Brumby with assistance by Tas Wilson, the visual was filmed across two days on a rural property between Gunning and Collector in rural NSW. In the clip, we see Hull escape prison and go on the run, with the hopes of meeting his lover in Mexico.
Speaking of the release, Hull shares with MILKY: "Working with Sam is always a good move. Not being someone who likes to get too involved in visuals, myself, Sam is perfect. He’s come up with a great take on how he envisions my song. It was nowhere near the storyline that was in my head when I wrote Mexico, but he’s brought this whole other story alive that’s different and more exciting. I’ll always appreciate his generosity and mateship when you’re out on the road filming, camping the in the bush or having a beer at the pub."
Written during COVID lockdown, the track conceptually daydreams of being somewhere else, whilst also lusting for their crush to join them and see the worlds wonders. Set atop a mesmerising guitar line, Hull's dreamy vocals mesmerise as the track plays out. "It’s about someone’s daydream - hoping there’s a chance with their crush,' Hull says of the track.
Hull will take to the stage tomorrow night for a free performance at Sydney's Vic On The Park to celebrate the release of his new single, Cowboys, which dropped today!
