Earlier this month, DL made his return, teaming up with Nathaniel on his new single, Love. We got our hands on a lovely live and acoustic video, filmed at Bakehouse Studios in Richmond!
Speaking of the visual, DL shares: “We’re really proud to put this video out there. We had to hustle to work around the covid restrictions in Victoria, but we were really lucky to get access to the Bakehouse Studios in Richmond the day before restrictions came back in; it’s beautiful in there! We wanted to show the bare song by stripping it back to just an acoustic guitar & give the lyrics the space. The lyrics come from an extra personal place for me, & I enjoyed stripping it back & paying respect to my wife & daughters. The song is for them, but I think this was the best way for it to connect with people. I love doing these kinds of performances of my music.”
Produced by SB90, and mixed by Charles Daly (Amy Shark, Allday, Mallrat), the candid track is a celebration of romance inspired by the rappers own relationship. Built atop synth chords and a commanding beat, DL’s lyrical mastery flows out, with Nathaniel's smooth, melodic vocals soaring above the track.
Having worked with the likes of Guy Sebastian and Sammie, DL has shared the stage with artists including Keri Hilson, Bobby Valentino, Next and Chris Sebastian.
