The simplistic visual sees the singer in two settings, one light and airy, and the other dark and compelling. Made complete with glitchy cut-in shots, stylised in a vintage VHS format, the clip moves between the light and dark, vivid colour and muted monochromes, presenting two personas as the singer plays out the song.
Conceptually, the track explores ones relationship with the need and want for validation, and the toxicity of that mindset. Built upon alluring samples and deft percussion, the track showcases Nile's airy, minimalistic pop vocals above production by LA-based collaborator HVTCH
Speaking of the track, Nile shares: “It’s about a toxic relationship, but not with a person, with a feeling - validation. I wrote 'Don’t Need Your Love' as an anthem to remind myself that I’m good enough and that my worth isn’t based on others’ perceptions of me. Some days can feel like every mirror shows you’re not good enough, every app tells you’re not interesting enough, and people in your life can make you feel not worthy enough. If you make music, it sometimes feels like every part of the industry is telling you you’re not talented enough.”
