Aussie musician BOLEYN is about to drop the music video for their new single, Violence, self-directed by the musician. If you’re like us and can’t wait, watch the visual right here on MILKY before its release!
Bringing on Hayden Buchanan (Midnight Pool Party, Boy, Suare, Kat Von D) to shoot and edit, the lascivious, and highly anticipated visual depicts two nearly-naked forms wearing masks reminiscent of Maison Margiela. BOLEYN and companions are shown in multiple fleshy vignettes as the track echos throughout. The musician invites us into a world that echoes the danger and excitement of the song. Visually stunning, the clip is bathed in red and draped in white sheets, with fruit destroyed in the throes of ecstasy, and visuals that highlight the seductive midnight playground with an intense fog of longing.
Speaking of the visual, BOLEYN shares: “The concept for the song is all about dancing on the line between pleasure and pain, so I really wanted to capture that visually. I’m literary in bed – a sort of imagined threesome dream sequence - with the personification of pleasure, in the form of a masked woman, and pain as the masked man. The destruction of fruit plays into the notion of sex as violence, destroying soft flesh, as they bleed and stain the sheets with their juice.”
