Sydney based singer-songwriter, Little Green is set to release her new single, Mothers Daughter, this Friday. If you can’t wait to give the track a spin, listen to the song right here on MILKY before its release!
Produced by Jordan Leonard, the blues inspired track brings the classic genre into a contemporary setting, made complete with some stunning sax, whilst navigating themes of generational trauma and mental health. The singers hazy vocals mesmerise throughout the track, showcasing her lyrical skills.
Speaking of the track, the singer shares with MILKY: "I like writing songs in character because it gives me the freedom to create more interesting stories. This is one of my darker characters. I created her to exaggerate the complex bond between a mother and a daughter and how trauma can be passed down through generations. The message I want to share is one of forgiveness and understanding. There is always a reason why people are the way they are."
Little Green will be taking to the stage at Sydney's The Lansdowne Hotel next month to launch the single. Presented by Muso, the event is a double launch party, celebrating Mardi Wilson’s new album and Little Green’s upcoming EP. Tickets are on sale now.
