Melbourne electropop artist Lakelend has returned with his second single, Supernova. If you’re like us and can’t wait, listen to the track right here on MILKY before its release!
The nostalgic banger fuses together electronic beats with synthesised strings, whilst Lakelend’s shimmering vocals float above the track. With a music video set to be released in the coming weeks, the song conceptually navigates falling hard and fast for new love. Lakelend’s vocals are reminiscent of Bastille frontman Dan Smith, with the track baring similarities to Lauv and earlier releases from Halsey.
Speaking of the track, the musician shares: “Sometimes that new person falls into your lap when you least expect it. A breath of fresh air. Something that you haven't experienced before. I was all in. Never in my life had I experienced a love for someone that built up so incredibly quickly. I think it’s only human to return love and affection if it’s received well and is something you’re capable of giving back. In hindsight there were certain moments that I was blind to everything happening around me. My close friends, my family and even my own goals and ambitions. I don’t regret it, but I'm just being honest.”
Making his debut with Fall Down, the musician has hit over 134k streams with just one song out in the world.
Supernova is out tomorrow! Listen to the track and watch the visualiser below.
