Continuing his collaboration with Edvard Haakanson (Chole Kae, Mimi Gilbert) and Malcolm Besly (Northeast Party House, City Calm Down), Control is built upon a tech house drum, with shimmering atmospheric synths laced throughout. The musical project of Charlie Ford, the singers captivating vocals bring to life introspective and reflective lyricism that offer up moments of vulnerability.
“”I wanted to encapsulate the euphoria and release of the dancefloor with the joy and celebration of pop music. I’ve always loved the juxtaposition of a soaring bright instrumental, and heartfelt emotive lyrics and vocals, I guess that’s what I have tried to do here.” the musician shares of the single. “I really hope this song resonates with people, as it feels like the perfect platform for me to be vulnerable and let go both musically and lyrically, I’m really proud of it.”
Serving as the second taste from the artists forthcoming body of work, the song follows Ford's debut single Time and continues to build upon his signature sonic identity. Influenced by the likes of Foals and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, this is just the beginning for fordy.
