Australian singer-songwriter Chymes is gearing up to release her new single, Black Hole Friend. If you can’t wait to give it a spin, you can watch the visual right here on MILKY before its release! The song is set to appear on the singers forthcoming EP Karma, due out this May.

The biting releases explores toxic relationships, with a particular focus on friends who suck all your energy with their pessimism and narcissism, with the singer waving goodbye to those who no only bring hurt and no longer spark joy. Playing out above seductive sonics, Chymes' dreamy vocals float above simmering production, with the song accompanied by an official visual directed by Sophia de Vries.

Speaking of the track, the singer shares: "This song was so much fun to write. It’s about that one friend who is so beyond toxic they are just a huge black hole that sucks all your energy out and leaves you with nothing. I’ve had so many “black hole” friendships that were awful, manipulative, needy and probably narcissistic, so it was so therapeutic to finally say a big “f*** you” to all the bitches who hurt me. It hurts so much when you’ve poured all your love and energy into someone, never get anything in return, and in the end they stab you in the back. This song really goes through that realisation period and ends up in a euphoric, fun chant “here’s to my black hole friend, you’ll never see me again”! I love it."

Black Hole Friend is the latest in a string of superb tracks from Chymes, most recently teaming up with Australian powerhouse singer-songwriter ASTON on Taken, and American singer-songwriter and producer Jack Newsome on their pop banger, F it ILY.
