Last month, indie-rock outfit Bad Pony released their latest single, Tessellate. We’re excited to give fans an exclusive first look at the bands performance video of the track!

Full of hooks and a commanding vocal performance from vocalist Jarred Young, Tessellate navigates the difficult terrain of addiction, mental health and support. The track is the most recent taste of their upcoming debut album, which sees them experimenting with self-producing and also enlisting JP Fung and Steven Schram for the project.

Currently living in different states due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the band are longing to get back to performing live. Until that day comes, Bad Pony have recorded an exclusive live performance of Tessellate, filmed from their homes.

Of the live performance video, vocalist and drummer Jarred Young tells MILKY exclusively: “We’ve really been missing playing and hanging out with each other. After such a long time music-ing together we’ve become family and at the moment we’re split between three states so this digital mess is the closest we can get to being together! It’s been a bit over a year since we recorded Tessellate and I’m not sure we’ve played it live before so it was cool re-exploring it in our own homes and honestly so cathartic being able to have a bit of a yell and smash again. Long-time collaborator Rick Clifford (@rcstills) worked his magic and edited the clip and helped turn our dodgy home videos into something wonderful.”

Since they burst onto the scene, Bad Pony have eleven national tours, two EP’s and a performance at SxSW 2018 under their belt. With their 2020 plans coming to a halt, Young relocated to a small Queensland town to begin working on their sophomore record. The band have also recently signed a booking deal with The Harbour Agency.
