GRAMMY Award-winning rock band Portugal. The Man are back, delivering their new single, Dummy. The track serves as the lead single from the bands hotly-anticipated ninth studio album, CHRIS BLACK CHANGED MY LIFE, due out this June.
Produced by Asa Taccone (Feel It Still), the track channels English rock luminaries The Cure with its charged lyricism and dynamic soundscape built around a bubbling bass line. Dummy arrives alongside an official visual, directed by Noel Paul, and introudces us to the bands new mascot, Tank Dog, created by Wes Hubbard (Wooden Cyclops) and John Gourley.
“Worried about the impending nuclear war? “Dummy” is an ode to The Cure. For all those hopeless doomers out there waxing poetic on the end times while dancing to Boys Don’t Cry. All my troubles seem so far away. Thank you for waiting, it feels good to be back!” says covalist John Gourley
Set to arrive with eleven new tracks, the band have teased a number of collaborations on CHRIS BLACK CHANGED MY LIFE, having already shared their collaboration Jeff Bhasker, Heavy Games II.
CHRIS BLACK CHANGED MY LIFE is out June 23. Watch the visual for Dummy below.
