Australian artist Quiet Blue has released his new album, A Million Miles. To celebrate, the musician has curated an exclusive playlist for MILKY.

On October 29, Quiet Blue will be supporting MILKY's October cover stars, Tora, at the Melbourne stop of their Australian tour. Tickets are on sale now!

BTSU (EDIT) -JAI PAUL

It's very possible that this is the coolest song I have ever heard (and may ever hear). The creativity and freedom tha Jai Paul has in his music is unparalleled in my opinion and is something I strive to employ in my own music. I think the normal Verse/chorus structure of songs doesn't always come naturally to my style of writing so examples like BTSU have empowered me to be free in my own writing.

COUP DE GRACE - DUGONG JR, IJALE

Dugong Jr x IJALE is a match absolutely made in heaven. These two Melbourne local legends have collaborated a few times now and absolutely NEVER miss. Dugong Jr's recent album Good Time Hotel is filled with bangers so it was hard to pick one but after seeing him live a number of times, the raw energy this track makes me bop every time.

CHERRY COLA - DEVON AGAIN

I came across Devon Again on Tik Tok and heard a snippet of this song pre-release and I think it's the first time in a long time I put a release date for a song in my calendar. I don't know how to describe it accurately but this song makes me want to jump around and sing and dance in the rain.

GUARD DOWN - EMERSON LEIF

I only really discovered Emerson Leif in the past couple of years and this song has stuck with me even while my music tastes have changed. The texture of Emerson's voice brings so much emotion to his music and sits in such a natural place among his composition and songwriting style. Guard Down is the type of song you can play when you're wanting to decompress and also when you're looking for the energy to get up and go to work.

SIMILAR - TORA

Tora is a band that was so formative in my transition from pretty much only listening to folk/acoustic music to falling in love with Electronic music. This song in particular features the effortless integration of electronic and live feeling instrumentation that became a hallmark of my early attempts at creating sonic spaces. Also, those vocals are to die for.

BACKSEAT DRIVER - HONNE

Backseat Driver is the ultimate driving song. I have listened to this song too many times to even count now... The way Honne are able to create such a strong energy in this track with pretty much guitars and a vocal absolutely baffles me.

BEST LIFE - BEN BOHMER & JONAH

I find myself listening to this song every morning while getting ready, and then on my commute, and then all day at work, and then when I get home from work - so basically all the time it seems. It's just so filled with a happy energy that is contagious.

LIFE ROUND HERE - JAMES BLAKE

James Blake is perhaps the biggest inspiration for my own music. I've quite literally travelled the world with him as the soundtrack so he holds a very dear place in my heart. Life Round Here has that sort of melancholic understated writing style that I love while also having a huge arrangement sonically. This song is just such a banger.

LET IT BREATHE - WATER LIARS

I have been spending the past few years convincing my partner that we must get married to this song. I first heard this song when I was in Canada in 2016 and it's ben in all of my playlists ever since. You will struggle to find a more beautiful song that this in my opinion.

HESITATE - GOLDEN VESSEL & EMERSON LEIF

Golden Vessel is probably my favourite Australian artist. Hesitate is another song that I listen to pretty much every time I am in the car, I am obsessed with the way this song builds from section to section. I feel like you float through the composition without and follow the ups and downs of the emotions of the song and by the time it finishes you want to jump back in and go all over again.
