New Zealand indie-rockers PARK RD are back with their new single, Save The Planet. To celebrate the release, the band have curated an exclusive playlist for MILKY full of songs to save the world to.

HE GETS ME SO HIGH - BEABADOOBEE

First song on the playlist is a Bea banger! It’s super happy, fun and pretty. Inspiring maybe to save a planet? Our frontman Tom plays this song a lot.

BEFORE THE WATER GETS TOO HIGH - PARQUET COURTS

Really great song from a great band. The song’s about climate change and the consequences of not taking any real action.. This one’s for Chris Luxon, our new Prime Minister! :)

RUNNER - ALEX G

I really love this song. I am going to see Alex G next week and I am so excited to see this song live! It was my favorite from the new album. Such a feel-good song.

HOW MUCH IS WEED? - DOMINIC FIKE

I’ve been a big fan of Dominic Fike for years and listened to his new album a bunch this year. It’s filled with bangers. This one is my personal fav. Would definitely save the planet to this.

CHANGES - THESE NEW SOUTH WALES

We recently had the privilege of playing SXSW in Sydney and one night after playing our set, we ended up at this venue in Chippendale, (I think it was called the chippo..?) and there was thisband playing and they were fucking dope and ever since then I have had TNSW on repeat, especially this tune.

THE PRICE OF SMOKES - THE CHATS

Another great Aussie punk band! I love The Chats! They always make me smile. This song has amazing lyrics. Totally how a lot of people are feeling right now...

ONE BROTHERHOOD - HERBS

I absolutely love Herbs, Kiwi legends. I played this song so many times while we were driving around NZ on tour last summer. Rest of the band probably hate it now but I don’t care, this is my summer jam forever.

HEAD IN THE CEILING FAN - TITLE FIGHT

I had to put this song in here. It’s probably one of my favorite songs ever. The guitars, the vocals, everything about it. It makes me feel happy and sad at the same time.

MAYBE TOMORROW - GOLDENHORSE

Another Kiwi classic. As soon as this song comes on I am instantly transported back into being a child when my parents used to play it constantly. I have a vivid memory of seeing this song live at a Goldenhorse concert on Maungawhau (big volcano in Auckland).

COLD HARD WORLD - DANIEL JOHNSTON

Last song on the list is from Daniel Johnston. I’m obsessed. I watched his documentary (The Devil and Daniel Johnston) the other day and oh my god, watch it! He was such a good writer and had the most unique sound ever. His lyrics always hit home. It is indeed a cold hard world.
