Emerging Eora/Sydney-based indie outfit The Sooks are back with their new EP, Wasting All My Time. To celebrate, the band have put together a photo diary so you can get to know them a little better.
"It's a real coming of age project - and delves into relationships, being young, dumb and broke, and trying to make it all work out in spite of that," frontman Corey Fitzsimons shares. "It's a homage to the experiences we've shared and touches on the highs and lows we've had together as a band and as individuals. As a whole, it emphasises not letting life dim your shine and doing what you feel you're meant to do, despite the roadblocks life puts in your way. Make the most of the moments you find yourselves in, and don't let people, thoughts or states of mind 'waste your time' because there's really no time like the present."

One of the photos we took on our latest shoot for our new song ‘take it slow’. We had such a good time taking these in such a sick location with our photographer Tom Wilkinson. Just a nice little fun moment captured on tape. Image: Tom Wilkinson.

A cute little pic of our bassist Jezz at a recent gig. We just froth live gigs. Nothing beats the feeling.

SMILE! Taken right before we opened for Press Club on the Sydney leg of their latest tour. Had such a great time with these legends.

Taken after a big night out after a gig. The party goes on even after the gig is over! If you’re at a show, make sure yas stick around for a wee bit after and see where the night takes us. We love turning a gig into a big night out with our mates and fans.

Corey, our singer, looking grumpy after a photo shoo for our new song ‘take it slow’. It was so hot that day.

Us after one of our latest songwriting sessions. After one of the boys writes a song, he’ll bring it to the rest of the band and we’ll flesh it out together. When it turns out great - it looks something like this. Smiles for days.

A photo of us at our latest gig at Bootleggers and Kelly’s on King in Newtown. We love playing for the fans. It’s the heartbeat of the Sooks’ ethos. It’s why we do what we do. We live for it.

A photo of Corey and Keenan, the brothers in the band, taken on a 40 degree sweltering summer day. These two do most of the songwriting in the band. The brotherly bond helps them keep honest with eachother, so only the best song ideas get filtered through.

Our band mascot, Queeva. We’ve got her on merch. We’ve got her on single covers. She’s our band dog and we love her.

A pic of us looking steezy staring down the barrel at the test shoot for Take It Slow. How good is that view! Image: Tom Wilkinson.
