Australian band, The Velvet Club recently made their return with Anything. To celebrate, the band have shared a photo diary full of snaps from their launch show for the track.

The Velvet Club have played multiple sold out secret shows over the last few years, inviting their core fans to attend via their active mailing list, and giving them the opportunity to see some of the band's new songs live for the first time, connect with other fans, and build a community around the band. On the release day of Anything, the band took over The Leadbeater Upstairs for a secret launch show.

These secret shows that only get promoted through our mailing list are so special to us! It’s so fun to play to a smaller crowd of people that give so much love to our band and are always the first people to buy tickets to our shows. It also allows us to play in a setting a little different to usual. This last one at the Leadbeater Hotel Upstairs felt like we were playing in a lounge room house party or a studio live session you’d see on a talk show on MTV in the 90’s with us playing in a circle & everyone in different rooms watching in!

Playing this show on the night of our first release in over a year was such a great way to celebrate new music coming out. We’re so grateful for everyone that bought a ticket and sang along to the song even though it had only been released for half a day.

It’s such a great opportunity to try out some new songs we’ve been working on all year live and see how they translate. Getting to meet & hang out with everyone before and after the show is lots of fun too. The energy in the room was so great and we can’t wait to host some more of these fan first shows over the summer.
