Sydney-based five-piece, Fifth Valley have made their debut with their singles, Come Down and For Leigh. To celebrate, the band are taking us behind-the-scenes of their time spent in the studio recording the songs with an exclusive photo diary.

Led by Georgia Zoe and Ryan Leigh, the band have spent the better part of the year crafting their soon-to-be-released EP. The collection of songs is heralded by their debut single, Come Down, a simmering coming of age track that captures the internal dichotomy of accepting fate and moving on.

"Come Down is about letting go of grief, people and all the things you can’t carry with you as you grow up," Zoe shares of the track. It looks at the moments between adolescence and adulthood, where nothing feels certain. We wrote it as a reflection on coming down from the highs of youth and growing to accept and love your future."

Earlier this week, the band unveiled their new single, For Leigh. The track serves as a tribute to Ryan Leigh's late father, honouring his memory and musical legacy. "The sonf came from a place of grief after I lost my dad," he shares. "My father Leigh was faced with a terminal illness and very little time left. Writing poems became a kind of outlet to make sense of what he was confronted with. Those poems are where the lyrics for this track came from, they’re his words. To quote dad; “Value their love, it’s the only true lasting force-energy in the universe, it is eternal.” Music was a massive part of his life so I wanted this song to be a legacy to remember him, honouring the promise, that what he had written would become a song."

Working with industry heavyweights Jack Nigro (DMA’S, Pacific Avenue, Rum Jungle) on production duties, and George Georgiadis (Matt Corby, The Rions, The Vanns) on mastering, Fifth Valley are paving their path for a string of releases for the remainder of the year.

Debuting in 2025, Fifth Valley have hit the ground running. The band have shared the stage with Hollow Coves, Caravãna Sun and Odette, they made their headline debut at Cronulla Surf Festival earlier this year.

Come Down and For Leigh are out now.
