Superficial is out now!

Central-Coast indie artist Hey! Astro has released his new single, Superficial. To celebrate the release, the musician is taking us behind-the-scenes of the tracks music video.

“Superficial is about being in love with someone who has bad intentions. But after escaping this relationship, I’ve realised how much better I am without them.” the musician shares.

This was on the first day of shooting. I remember climbing through the bushes to get the perfect spot. Was one of my favourite locations to film at.

Working with Charles was so fun. The chemistry was there off the bat and we just bounced ideas of each other all day.

Another one of my favourite shots from the whole video. Had such a grungy feel to it and I remember seeing the playback and loving it.

This was an improvised scene where we had the great idea to hop in a shopping trolley and roll around in it. Ended up getting super dizzy after every shot from spinning it around so much.

It was a real race against time for this shot. We barely got to the beach after shooting in the city with a few minutes of sunset left and then we also had to finish up so I could catch a flight in time. All in all, definitely worth it.

Thankfully we didn’t have to wait too long for the rain to stop. The overcast conditions made the scenes come out crazy good. Filming everything on film was an experience in itself. Watching the process and setup was so interesting.

Superficial is out now!
