Folly is out now!

Brisbane-based trio Bean Magazine have dropped their new EP, Folly. To celebrate, the band are taking us along for the ride as they hit the road during the EP's release week.

The EP is"about being a fool and having a bit of a laugh at yourself,"says vocalist and guitarist Henry Creamer. It's an ode to stepping back and not taking yourself too seriously — especially when your mind is crowded with self-defeatist thoughts.

We kicked things off with a relaxing 5am wake up. We flew to Sydney and dived into the biggest promo day we’ve had the privilege of participating in. We were lucky enough to sit down again with Daphne from Airing Your Dirty Laundry followed by a photo shoot with one of our absolute favourite photographers, Elise. We even got to speak with THE Ash McGregor at the ABC studios. Seeing where the original 'like a versions' took place along with meeting Jemima and Humpty Dumpty capped off a terrific experience. After a small nap we hopped over to Chuck Trailers and played a once in a lifetime show, smack bang in the middle of a half pipe. Folly was played in its entirety and the punters seemed to react exactly how one would hope. After the show wrapped up we set off in search for a Guinness or 3 and spent some quality time together by the harbour enjoying Vivid. The following day we played at the Enmore freaking theatre for the second time in our short career, this time supporting Ball Park Music.

Folly represents knowing yourself, warts and all. Being able to laugh at yourself and understand how important it is not to take yourself too seriously. It’s our third EP and our favourite one so far.
