Adelaide hip-hop trio EAST AV3 recently dropped their new EP, DAY TRIP TO THE NIGHT TRAP. To celebrate the release, the band are taking us behind-the-scenes of their time spent working on the body of work.
“The last hurdle being the project itself, after losing the original project [when] our hard drive corrupted, we decided to reset and write an entirely new project. With new music, we found ourselves digging deeper and able to properly reflect on our journey to date and some of the experiences we’ve encountered. The sound of the project has developed from our previous stuff but still presents a trademark unique sound unlike any other in Australia. It encompasses a range of emotions from start to finish”. the trio share of the release.
Having appeared at School Night in Sydney alongside Charlie Pittman, Glenn Hopper and Salarymen last night, with special guests Danté Knows and Philla, EAST AV3 will host a hometown show at Adelaide's Crown and Anchor Hotel on February 2. Tickets are on sale now!

We got inspired and made DAY TRIP TO THE NIGHT TRAP. It’s about being OUTSIDE RUNNING for the things that you want in life. ALL I KNOW is the more you commit to achieving, the greater you’ll become.
The majority of the recordings took place in our home studio. It’s full of artwork, books and creative energy. Music is spontaneous and we take that approach to recording. There is no real method to the madness, it’s just whenever we feel enough to express.
This is our favourite pub in Adelaide. An iconic Irish pub just outside the city. We might use this harp in the next project.
