Kiama-based indie-rock quartet Pacific Avenue have treated us all with their new single, Give It Up For Yourself. Produced by Chris Collins (Skegss, Tyne-James Organ, Middle Kids), the track is the bands first release since their signing to BMG Australia.
Serving as a reminder to appreciate the little things in life and your own accomplishments, no matter how big or small, Give It Up For Yourself is sure to have you grooving with a smile on your face all weekend long. Frontman Harry O’Brien's impassioned vocal performance simmers above crunchy guitar lines and driving percussion. Weaving together notes of Brit-pop within their signature indie-rock sound, the optimistic track is the latest in a string of thrilling releases from the quartet.
“Give It Up For Yourself is a song that acknowledges and celebrates your life, everything that you are, and everything that you have overcome. When I was writing the lyrics, I wanted to keep in mind the importance of taking a step back and appreciating how far you have come, no matter how far along you are in achieving your dreams. This song is about giving yourself some credit because if the younger version of yourself could see you today, I’m sure you would be proud.” the band share of the track.
Alongside the release, the four-piece have shared the songs official visual, filmed by Tasman Wilson (Ruby Fields, Adam Newling). Starring The Inspired Unemployed's Matt Ford, we follow the media personality and a number of performers as they dance up a storm.
