NSW-based quartet Pacific Avenue have treated us with the announcement of their long-awaited debut album, Flowers. Set to arrive this May, the band have shared a taste of the record with their new single Spin Me Like Your Records.
Delivering a slice of indie-rock goodness, the infectious release is driven by sing-a-long melodies and an ear-worm melodies that will have you singing along for days. Sure to become a staple in their live set, the anthemic track will join the previously released singles Easy Love, Give It Up For Yourself and Leaving For London on the bands forthcoming body of work.
"The main theme behind writing Spin Me Like Your Records was to get a fun, upbeat track that we could dance around to and have as a really nice moment in our live set for festivals. We got to a point where we thought we'd finished the album and had a listening party with our label, publisher and management, and while we loved it, we all thought it could use some straight-up-and-down classic rock songs. So, we wrote our last single, Leaving For London, another album track, Modern Lovers and finally this single, and I don't think the album would be the same without them. It's just another silly song about being hopelessly into someone." the band share.
Having ended a massive year of touring with a set at Lost Paradise, the band are set to take to the stage at Burleigh Ball Festival in Jellurgal/Burleigh Heads this Saturday before playing Party In The Paddock in Tasmania on Sunday. Pacific Avenue have previously shared the stage with 5 Seconds of Summer, DMAs, Louis Tomlinson (UK), The Wombats (UK), Tash Sultana, Ocean Alley, Lime Cordiale, San Cisco, Ruby Fields and Thelma Plum.
