NORTHLANE ANNOUNCE ACOUSTIC EP '2D'

Aussie rockers Northlane are treating fans with the release of their new EP, 2D. The release features five acoustic renditions of fan favourite tracks from the Alien era, with the first song, Rift, available now.

Speaking of the release, frontman Marcus Bridge shares: "Recording an acoustic EP is something that we've wanted to do for quite some time and felt right with the personal nature of the songs from 'Alien'. I wanted to strip these songs back to the bare minimum to juxtapose the soundscapes of the album, a 2D version of sorts. A song like 'Rift' has a completely different energy in this context and took on new meaning with the recording in the depths of lockdown, now almost feeling like a cry of frustration and despair.”

To celebrate the release of 2D and their remix EP 5G, the four-piece will be dropping limited edition 12-inch coloured vinyl pressings, available for pre-order now.

Northlane will headline this year's Full Tilt festival in Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane alongside In Hearts Wake, Hands Like Houses, Thy Art Is Murder, Luca Brasi and more. The four-piece are currently working on new music for their sixth studio album.

2D is out May 21. Listen to Rift below!
