Sydney-based artist, Morpheus Justin has delivered his new single, Way Back.
Fuelled by a sense of nostalgia, the reflective track finds the musician recalling on life during the 2000's and the hustle of chasing your dreams. Built upon a booming trap beat, the rapper weaves in threads of soul to create an mesmerising soundscape that lures you in and is maintained by his engaging performance. Way Back marks a shift into lighter sonics for the musician when compared to his previous releases, and serves as the first taste of his forthcoming project.
“I wanted to remind people of the come up, take you back to when we were hustling and just trying to get on, it was a different time, I’ve been at this for a minute, rewinding back to those times reminds me of how far I’ve come, my brothers and close partners are all making a killing off their dreams and its beautiful to see, they stuck to their guns and manifested their dreams, this track is a celebration of all our achievements." the musician shares.
Having made his debut in 2021 with Let It Go, the musician unveiled his debut EP, Tug Of War, the following year. Delving into personal topics across his music, the musician explores themes of war, conflict, displacement, trauma and dysfunction, and his move as a child from South Sudan to Australia.
Way Back is out now!
