Melbourne-based surf-rockers, Majak Door have dropped their new single, Jasmine. The track serves as the second taste of the bands forthcoming sophomore album fantasy camp.
Recorded live in their home studio and mixed by Nolan Thies (Brooklyn), the track strips back the bands more up-tempo output to instead create a swirling soundscape that is led by a dreamy sonic palette. Frontman Frankie Vakalis' hypnotic vocals float above spiralling guitar lines and driving percussion, whilst offering an introspective lyrical exploration that focuses on taking the harder times of life in your stride and building a brighter future.
"The track offers a more emotive side to our sound. Things don’t always go as they planned though if your taking life’s challenges as building blocks to better yourself and to learn, you’re onto a good thing. Like the Japanese art form of Kintsugi - repairing broken pottery and highlighting the cracks and blemishes makes it more beautiful." the band share.
Majak Door will be hitting the stage at Inward Goods in the Gippsland Bush in Briagolong, Victoria. Taking place from November 3-5, the band will be joined by a bevy of local artists, including Melbourne-based hip-hop artist Teether. The band are also set to appear at Gippsland Festival the Torquay Hotel with Bones and Jones, Sooki Lounge and Belgrave with The Velvet Club.
