Last week, Melbourne-based hip-hop artist Teether took to the stage at Phoenix Central Park for their Season IX program. We caught up with the musician to chat about his album MACHONA, live music and so much more!
On his fourth solo record, Teether presents a compelling body of work that places him at the forefront of Australia's alternative hip-hop scene. Each song serves as a textural offering that breaks down the confines of genre to present dynamic soundscapes that fuel the albums hazy and mesmerising presence. Lyrically, a deep introspection shrouds the record with thought provoking lyricism that is emphasised by his inimitable performance.
Phoenix Central Park is the singular vision of philanthropist Judith Neilson AM, well-known as the founder and owner of Sydney’s prized White Rabbit Gallery and its world-renowned collection of contemporary Chinese art. Centred around its multi-award-winning performance space in Chippendale, Phoenix Central Park places artists at the core of its vision, promoting genuine artistic risk-taking, unique collaborations and a contemporary narrative.
