Jack Davies and The Bush Chooks are back with their new single Inner City Lights. The band have also announced their forthcoming EP, Shadows and Sounds of the Night, is due out later this year.
Speaking of the track, Davies shares: “Inner City Lights is an atmospheric soundtrack to those twilight city walks. As Jack explains;“It started as more of a jam track, wanting to explore a more rhythmic and textured sound. The song itself is sort of an angsty musing on feeling lost on a night out. The recording was built on the live take, trying to capture a more uncut sound.”
Having teased some national tour dates to be announced soon, the band have two live shows scheduled in their native Western Australia, taking to the stage at Wave Rock Weekender later this month, as well as an EP Launch show at the Regal Theatre in October.
Since releasing their first single at the end of 2018, the group have gained over 2 million streams on Spotify, as well as radio play across the country. Accolades have poured in too, with the group scoring WAM’s “Best Folk Act” and a National Live Music Award for “Best Live Act in WA” in 2019. In 2020, they were awarded the WAM Song of the Year Grand Prize Runner Up and Country Music Song of the Year for their single Half Frozen Beer.
