IN THE STUDIO WITH TOUCH SENSITIVE

Watch our interview with Touch Sensitive!

Ahead of his performance at King Street Carnival, we caught up with Australian producer and musician Touch Sensitive to chat about the event, new music, the impact of live music and so much more!

The musical project of Michael Di Francesco, Touch Sensitive made his debut in 2004 with the infectious Body Shop, followed up by his debut self-titled EP the following year, and has since put his own nostalgic 80's drenched spin on EDM and electronica. With hits like Real Talk and Pizza Guy/Show Me under his belt, the musician dropped his debut album in 2017, Visions, which featured the ARIA Gold hit single Lay Down and his collaboration with Electric Fields, No Other High.

In 2019, the musician unveiled his nu-disco infused sophomore EP The 36th Level, which features the fan-favourite track, Before U Met My Body. Laced with notes of funk, the instrumental release provided a space to purely soak up Di Francesco's compositional mastery, transporting listeners back to 70's and 80's. The musician shared with MILKY new music is on the way, with a follow up EP set to arrive next year.

Launching in 2015, King Street Crawl celebrates Newtown's vibrant main strip, showcasing a bevy of local talented artists, as well as beloved local bars, pubs, venues, cafes, shops. The new iteration of the event will continue the fun, in a bigger way. Touch Sensitive will be joined by a bevy of local talent, including The Buoys, Amyl and the Sniffers, Johnny Hunter, Horrorshow, You Am I, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever Hiatus Kaiyote, Middle Kids, Yothu Yindi and Sarah Blasko.

As the event comes to an end on Sunday, Touch Sensitive leads some of Australia's most renowned live acts to close King Street Carnival, alongside Confidence Man, Melbourne staple Harvey Sutherland, multi-instrumentalist Milan Ring, Sydneysider CLYPSO, Lazywax, Liyah Knight and Setwun at Sydney Park Amphitheatre. Camperdown Rest Memorial Park will see one of Australia's most successful and renowned acts return to the stage, with Yothu Yindi headlining the final day. Joining the star-studded lineup is ARIA Award winner Sarah Blasko, Alex The Astronaut, All Our Exes Live In Texas, Emma Donovan & The Putbacks, Caitlin Harnett & The Pony Boys and EJ Worland.
