4x ARIA Award winner Genesis Owusu has unveiled the visual for his track Black Dogs!, taken from his critically acclaimed debut album, Smiling With No Teeth.

Directed by Daniela Federici, the striking visual captures Owusu's magnetic presence as a performer, splicing in moments of colour within black and white shots. “I really wanted to capture the tension and the rising chaos of the song in video form, and Daniela Federici (director) knew how to bring that energy in spades, but also in a really artful way.” Owusu shares of the visual.

He adds of the song, "It’s a straight-to-the-point song encompassing a day in the life of me, or just any Black person in Australia. It’s not that I’m getting abused by police every day, but it’s all the little microaggressions. Sonically speaking, it plays into how I feel every day, going into white spaces and feeling a bit paranoid."

Kicking off on March 3 at Sydney's Enmore Theatre, the run of shows will continue on to Adelaide and Brisbane, before wrapping up at Melbourne's The Forum on March 13. Owusu and his Goons will be joined by the musicians full band, The Black Dog Band, made up of Kirin J Callinan, Michael DiFrancesco (Touch Sensitive), Julian Sudek (World Champion) and OURNESS label founder, Andrew Klippel.

Late last year, Owusu took home four out of his eight nominations at the 2021 ARIA Awards, with the musician also offering up one of the nights most captivating performances performing a medley of tracks including Waitin' on Ya, The Other Black Dog and Don't Need You. Taking out the coveted Album Of The Year for Smiling With No Teeth, Best Hip Hop Release Presented By Menulog, and Best Independent Release Presented by PPCA. Best Cover Art was also awarded to Kofi Ansah and Bailey Howard for their work on the albums imagery.
