With their long awaited third studio album angel in realtime only days, acclaimed Australian band Gang Of Youths have announced the return of A More Perfect Union, a festival experience curated by the five-piece.
Set to take place this August whilst the band are in Australia on their national tour, A More Perfect Union will visit Hobart and Sandstone Point, bringing along a bevy of local and international talent. The event will also bring gourmet food trucks, boutique beer, wine and other untold wonders. Fans can get their hands on VIP tickets which grants access to exclusive bar spaces, with additional shade, seating and stage views.
For the Hobart leg of the festival, the band will be joined by Arlo Parks, Cub Sport, Gretta Ray, Adam Newling and The Lazy Eyes at the Regatta Grounds on Sunday 14th August, with Matt Corby, Middle Kids, Budjerah, BLESSED, Becca Hatch and Romero appearing at Sandstone Point Hotel on Saturday 20th August.
Speaking of the event, the band share: "a more perfect union will be brought to Queensland and Tasmanian shores this August, in realtime. we are so grateful to each of the acts on this magnificent line up, we also can't wait to get home. thank u to all of our hard working team that have helped us set this up - bring on August!"
Kicking off in Perth on July 30, the bands national run of shows will continue on to Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart, before crossing the Tasman to New Zealand for performances in Wellington and Auckland.
Arriving this Friday, angel in realtime. serves as an ode to Le’aupepe's late father, rooted in his Samoan heritage. As heard on the lead single, the man himself, the record is set to continue the bands implementation of samples from David Fanshawe’s field recordings of Indigenous Pacific music, with contributions from a number of Pasifika and Māori vocalists and instrumentalists. “The album is about the life and legacy of Dave's father, indigenous identity, death, grief and God. And also the Angel, Islington.” the five-piece share.
angel in realtime. is out February 25! Tickets for A More Perfect Union are on sale to the general public on Friday 25th February @ 10 AM local, but fans are able to get early access to tickets by signing up here.
