Making her return to music earlier this year, Aussie singer Eves Karydas has dropped her new banger, Get Me So High. The release is accompanied by an official music video, directed by Onil Kotian.
On Get Me So High, Karydas brings her to-the-point and confessional lyricism whilst navigating feelings of infatuation and intoxication a relationship can bring, even throughout turmoil. The release sees the singer team up with Madelene Eliasson and Amanda Cygnaeus, creating an all female songwriting and production team for the track that came to be in Stockholm.
Speaking of the song, Karydas shares: “Someone once said to me “being in love is like being given drugs for free”. At the time I was experiencing a real lack of security in the relationship I was in. I was in a place where my happiness was so heavily reliant on a guy giving me attention. The annoying part of it all was that no matter how many lows there were, I was addicted to the highs. It clouded my vision and I made poor decisions. I think needed to write this song to hold myself accountable in a way. I like to joke that this song is what you get when three girls in their twenties sit in a room together talking about their disastrous love lives."
After a two year hiatus, Karydas made her return earlier this year with Complicated. The track became the 1 Most Played Track on triple j in the weeks following release and has amassed over 3.5 million streams.
