Global hit-maker Ed Sheeran is back, shifting gears and unveiling a new exploration of sound on his new single, Bad Habits. The release arrives complete with a fangy visual, directed by Dave Meyers.
Co-produced with long-time collaborators Johnny McDaid (Shape of You) and FRED (No.6 Collaborations Project), the up-tempo track comes after a two-year musical hiatus from Sheeran and is set to feature on the musicians upcoming fifth studio album. Moving away from the singer-songwriter sonics of his previous releases, Bad Habits takes a more electronic approach, built upon a pulsating bass line and synths.
For the visual, Sheeran gets the Twilight treatment, transforming into a vampire as he and his gang of other worldly creatures take to the street, wreaking havoc. As the visual concludes, Sheeran transforms back to the guitar holding, singer-songwriter that has graced stages worldwide.
Speaking of the visual, Sheeran says: “Feels great to be back with my new single. I wanted the video for Bad Habits to play on the nature of habits in a fantastical way so I decided on vampires. It was mega fun getting into character except for the heights (that wasn’t so fun). Enjoy x”
